Extended work placement at Tieke Golf Estate

St John’s College boys seem to get on so well at their work placements they are often asked to stay on and Caleb Bromley is no different. The year 13 is working at Tieke, Hamilton’s premier golf estate, underneath the expert guidance of Tieke’s course superintendant, Jason Laing.

Jason Laing said that Caleb has fitted in so well with the team and is very reliable so it was an easy decision to extend his placement. “There is a list of jobs on the board every week for Caleb which he has no trouble working through. He arrives, sets himself up, and gets on with the work at hand. Caleb is keen to learn new things and we’re really enjoying getting to know him and teaching him more about Tieke and how it runs.”

Caleb was working on a Monday but has since moved to a Friday so he can gain more insight into the work that occurs at the course before a weekend arrives.

A huge thank you to Tieke for supporting the St John’s Gateway programme and well done to Caleb!
